Meet The Diva Team Backstage at the Juno’s

The 2016 Juno’s backstage team is made up of a group of very talented and seasoned Diva hair stylists with an average of 14-½ years industry experience. The Diva team is excited to provide styling for Juno Artists and participants during all activities leading up to and including the awards show.

Anita-Junos-Stylist

Anita Fong (West Mount Royal) has been a stylist with Diva for 15 years this June. Anita loves cutting hair to add life and movement to a shape while creating structure. Anita says a great fresh colour enhances a cut so she loves being able to customize colour formulas for each guest. Anita seeks inspiration in fashion, architecture, Vidal Sassoon and social media to view other talented stylists’ work.

“My points of difference are my consistency, meticulous attention to detail and going above and beyond to the best of my ability for every single guest.”

Rami-Junos-Stylist

Rami Hussein (Countryhills) has been a hairstylist for 14 years, offering both cut and color. As a kid, Rami liked mathematics, especially geometry. To Rami, cutting is like geometry because he can create shapes. Rami lists advanced education, fashion shows, art, and traveling as his main sources of inspiration.

“My point of difference is that I focus on my guest and their needs. I am a good listener and I build friendships with all my guests so I look forward to spending time with them. I go above and beyond by customizing each service to create a memorable experience.”

April-Junos-Stylist

April Jones (West Mount Royal) has been a hair stylist for over 21 years, 18 of those years with Diva. April  is also an Aveda Certified Educator for colour. She has a passion for both cut and colour, but colour is her favorite, as she loves the theory and science behind creating the perfect customized formula. April is inspired by everything around her from architecture to nature.

“My points of difference are my honesty, my ability to formulate colour and great shampoo experience!”

Mike-Junos-Stylist

Michael Le (Seton) has been a hair stylist with Diva for 11 years. Though he excels at both cut and colour, he loves cutting because “you can transform someone with just a comb and a pair of scissors!” Michael’s favorite source of inspiration is the work done by all the talented stylists around the world, now easier than ever to view via social media.

” Michael’s point of difference is that “I never take anyone that sits in my chair for granted! I always give time and attention and listen to every guest to ensure they leave looking great and feeling great!”

Jennelle-Junos-Stylist

Jennelle Lessard (West Mount Royal) has been working with Diva for over 13 years, though she has been in the industry doing hair for over 16 years. Jennelle says she loves cut, color and styling.

“The services complement each other and I couldn’t imagine just doing one.”

Jennelle is inspired by the world around her, from the people she meets to the things she sees. Jennelle’s points of difference include her patience and kindness.

Jenny-Junos-Stylist

Jenny Parks (Chinook) has been in the hair industry for over 15 years, working with Diva for almost 13 years. Jenny loves cutting hair just as much as she loves colouring hair. What she loves the most is being able to create new looks with a combination of both cut and colour on her existing guests as well as new ones. Many things including music, art, people and beauty in nature inspire Jenny.

“My point of difference is my ability to truly listen, suggest and recommend then follow through. And I’ve also been told by many guests that I give the best scalp massage ever!”

Angela

Angela Burak (Market Mall) has been a hairstylist for 17 years and she is an Aveda Certified Educator for styling. Angela is passionate about styling, manipulating hair to create new shapes and forms beyond what it does naturally. Angela is inspired by hair styling guru and Aveda Global Educator Jon Reyman for his teaching techniques and professionalism.

“I walk on the pin up side of life. The fifties are a huge inspiration for me.”  Angela’s point of difference is her ability to listen to her guests’ needs.

Zoie-Junos-Stylist

Zoie Squirrell (Northland) has been a stylist with Diva for 6 years and is also in training to become an Aveda Certified Educator for hair colour. Zoie enjoys both cutting and coloring because she loves to create a full transformation. “If I had to choose, I would pick hair colouring because it is so artistic and free, meditative and intentional. Zoie’s inspiration is remembering she is a day maker. ”I don’t just make one person’s day, I make many and that’s what keeps me going.” Zoie’s point of difference is conversation skills and making a real connection with every guest.

“The art of conversation is hard to perfect, but each day I get that much better. “
